Jellyfish is one of the few tracks on the upcoming album that has both a cassette and a digital recording, it's one of my favourites, so this hifi version deserves a release in its own right.
As you will hear on the track, I've become fixated on sampling my friends and family from various video media i've collected over the years, often to the point where album sessions will just be spent scrutinising old footage for vague remarks to insert into the music. I guess it helps me feel connected with those around me, reconnects me with people I see less often, and also provides fun easter eggs for close friends/family, to pick out and identify theirs or other's voices.
Jellyfish went through many mix revisions and existed as several demo recordings before reaching its conclusion here. I had a thought about releasing a couple of the demos alongside the completed version, but I think they sound too similar to warrant publishing. They're just vestigial ideas really...
